Title: Brand new brewer! Thanks for having me!
Post by: LuckyLuke91 on August 15, 2019, 04:47:45 PM
Hello! My name is Luke, and I'm excited to learn how to become a brewer. I live next to a farm that my family owns, and my father is interested in growing hops since we have crop fields of our own. He's not only interested in growing hops, but he's also interested in brewing as well. The last few days I have been scoping out beer kits for beginners, as well as trying to learn the basics of the brewing process. Craig's videos have been really helpful in learning thus far, and I've taken a lot of notes on them. Now all that's left is to put everything into action, learn, and hopefully develop a new, fun hobby!

Welcome aboard!
thats great your dad is interested in the hobby. I grow my own hops too.
started out with a Mr Beer kit and now i brew all different ways, along with most of the brewers here. so any questions you have ask away.
a couple of things to think about which way you want to brew, extract or all grain. spend the money once on a big pot so you can do a full boil. i was using a 8 gallon pot. started out with a 5gal but was to small.  another thing is fermentation temp control, makes a difference.
dont mean to scare you but hate seeing people waste money  8)
like I said before ask anything.

oh yeah, what kind of beer are you thinking for your first brew??
