Very close to purchasing the keg king series 4 dual ss tap kegerator.
Taken a little longer than expected to get this purchase happening.

I'm very glad I bought taps with flowcontrol...
It turns out that they also function as an "childproof" safty...

Does anyone know if the perlick 650ss can be modified with a spring on the handle (like the intertaps)

The problem with kegerators is that they're very often a 1 step forward, two steps back economically issue. What people often do is look through classified ads and find an old freezer that someone is selling for $50, then they buy it and drill holes, buy the fountains, and get the set-up going for very little money. That's one step forward.

The two steps back is the fact that refrigerators and freezers are the single most expensive electric appliances that people have in their homes (counting central air conditioning in that category). The older these things get, the less efficient they become. There's a reason why the seller of that freezer wanted rid of it...it's an electricity hog and it's only going to get worse. So, while the person may have saved a few quid by buying a used freezer and converting it into a kegerator, they wind up paying out the nose for electricity. Two steps back.

It's best, I think, not to "look for ideas" in the kegerator realm, and instead Google "kegerator," find the "expensive" (as compared to buying new) brand new kegerator, and buy the thing already designed and ready to go. You might pay a lot up front, but month after month the cost will be much less in electricity and you'll save cash in the long run.

Im not sure I entirely agree with this Ouroboros.
I admit an older appliance in a lot of circumstances uses more power than a new one (especially when comparing the new inverter models of fridges and freezers to older ones)

But the two steps back?
A freezer for starters is designed to keep things cold very cold (frozen actually LOL) so the insulation in a freezer old or new will be superior to a fridge.
Add to this fact that you are now temperature controlling it to do the job of a beer fridge set to a much higher temperature than it was designed to do when freezing things.

This means the compressor in your older freezer has a much easier life than it ever did before, and will use a lot less power than it did before. It is still IMHO a very good (if not great) option if you want to save a bit of money and get started.
Even a new freezer with the benefit of new inverter tech. plus your own fonts and temp control is still a cheaper option than many kegerators.
Also, when ever you open the door on a fridge the cold air "falls" out, where as with a chest freezer, cold air stays inside.
My 2c on the topic.
FV1 = Empty
FV2 = Empty
FV3 = (60L) Empty

Keg1 = 2Heads Pale
Keg2 = 2Heads IPA
Keg3 = 2Heads Amber
Keg4 = 2Heads Bitter
Keg5 = Empty

I see what both are saying and I have to agree with TASspark on this.
there is also one other thing i would like to add. when your Keezer or fridge conversion has a lot of room inside it will not maintain temps inside, I have noticed this with my fridge. when the kegs are full it cycles less when they start getting empty it cycles more.
so I added some 2L soda bottles full of water to help keep things cold.
In short, less stuff inside the more it runs, less mass to maintain the temp inside.
