I think i flubbed a dub,1 ounce of US 05,,, 3 gallons of apple juice,,,1 ounce of centennial hops ,,,2 pounds of dextrose,,, and too many ounces of oak chips lol---(16)--i will pour it off (8-18-17). l started on (8-10-17).The oak chips kinda muddied the waters if you know what i mean. by (8-11-17) it smelled really crappy but today(8-16-17)it don't smell too bad really like its coming around.i will pour this off and set it in my dark closet for about 3 months to clear i hope_----The next batch will be 3 gallons  of Apple Juice ,,, 1 ounce of Cascade and/or Amarillo hops,,,,with 2 pounds of dextrose and 1 ounce of US 05 ,,,i told Vic i thought i flubbed a dub cause it looks funky to me but the smell is kinda pleasant,,,i may have to freeze distill to fine and clear it up,,,but all in all it MIGHT surpriise me,,,i sure hope so,,the customer base i have to make happy is limited(me),,,lol lol lol so customer satisfaction IS guaranteed,,,LOL LOL LOL,,,1 last note that US 05 is one workin workhorse for sure,,,,,,,,,,,,live and learn  cheers and 17 i  will keep ya posted,,,,,,,,,,,,,

if you can cold crash it that will help, if your going to store it for 3 months the hops my not be there, you may want to try a sample and then decide if a dry hop is in order.
oh and if it still is muddy, freeze it and make some apple jack out of it for sure!

Thanks combat32 it is looking more and more like I will be freezing it th. The next round I hope to have a big mouth fermenter. And I won't be muddying the water she is gonna be looking clean and crisp if I can help it lol thanks for all y'alls input. Have a nice evening y'all cheers 17

DonĀ“t give up on the clarity yet. Try mixing in some gelatin and it will clear right up. Use a table spoon of gelatin to about 200ml of water. First mix it in some water, heat the mix up in a microwawe to about 155 F and stir it. When it is completely dissolved, add it to the cider. If you can use a long spoon or something else to gently rotate the cider after you add the gelatin you will get a good effect. The clearing will go faster if you can put the carboy in a cool temperature after adding the gelatin. If you have space in a fridge for that, you should see a nice clear cider within 3 days or so.

I made a hopped cider ones, can see if I can find the recipe (I lost my recipe book ill find it soon), I used concentrate cause I cant get fresh pressed apple cider where I live its too cold to grow apples in a larger scale, I know I used more concentrate to water then it suggested, about 3/4 didnt add any sugar, used US-05 for the yeast and when done fermenting I used 1 ounce (for 20L batch) of cascade for dry hopping for about 1 week, abv was around 8% or so.

I know for a fact that cascade works cause the cider was awezome, medium dry but the hop flavor and smell was awezome compliment to the apples.

my mom like a little toddy ever once in a while but she is not a hop head like me so next time i will probably use 1/2 of either cascade or amarillo  with us05 yeast and 2 pounds of dextrose

I usually do 1lb brown and 1lb white table sugar for my ciders.
and sometimes i take two 1liter plastic bottles fill almost full and freeze them.
then after a week in the freezer drain off the good stuff and BAM! Apple Jack  8)
give it a try, you might get hooked on the Apple Jack though. I think i may get a batch going myself, but i probably will split to 2 vessels so i can hop one with some Mosaic?
