Perlick 650ss flow control faucets
« on: November 08, 2017, 03:44:11 AM »
Good morning.  Can anyone help. I got a kegerator with a double tap tower.  Ive had god knows how many troubles with beerline etc and the beer coming out to fast and just coming out like foam. Ive recently changed all the beer line and put in bevlex 200 line in which is the best stuff apparently.  I’ve done research and everyone say 6 foot of beerline should be plenty. I’ve put in 10 foot for each of my kegs and it’s still the same coming out like foam I’m thinking about buying the perlick 650ss flow control taps. Because then I can control how fast the beer comes out. Does anyone use these and can tell me if it’s werth me spending the money on them because they will cost me £150 with import charges because I live in the uk can can’t seem to get them over here lol. It’s really frustrating because I got 2 full kegs waiting to be drunk lol

Cheers 17

whats your Co2 set to?
I run mine at 10-11psi with 12 foot lines, if it goes up to 12psi I get a foamy pour.
also check your keg connections, i had one that had a piece of plastic blocking a quarter of the opening and all it poured was foam.
I have Perlicks on my kegerator but not the flow control ones. I figured when i built it i would bite the bullet and buy stainless steel stuff so it lasted.

I normally run mine about 10psi. It’s takes about a pint for it to come out normall but still to fast.  I I’m putting it down to shit taps. So I’ve just ordered 2 perlick 650s so hopefully they won’t take long to come. And I’ll keep ya updated. Let’s hope that will sort it.  From the reviews I’ve have red on them they should do the trick.  Cheers 17

If it's still coming out too fast, have you tried lowering the pressure until it comes out at a normal speed?

one other thing since you said the first pint comes out foamy then you get a normal pour,
do you have a fan or some way of cooling the tower?
if the beer is warmer in the tower it will be foamy until the lines cool from the beer running through them, that is if i understand what others have had with towers. mine are through my door so everything is the same temp.
just a thought

Just to give ya head up. I’ve fitted the perlicks and I put a fan in to cool the tower down. And finally it’s all sorted cheers

Sorry I haven’t been on here lately, and missed the opportunity to let you know that I’m very happy with my two 650SS Perlicks. It’s definitely easier to avoid too much foam with those than without flow control. Not too difficult to clean either. Glad you got it sorted.
