Coopers IPA (5&7) + 50g Hop 10 min. Boil tea enogh?
« on: November 16, 2017, 06:05:43 PM »
17!
I am currently brewing a Coopers IPA with 500g LDME & 700g Dex.
I also boiled 50g of Lucky hops (HBC 517) for 10 minutes (Tea).

Would it be enough for flavour & aroma or should I throw in 30 - 50g extra after 3 - 5 days or so?

i would throw them in after 7 days of fermentation, i love hops  ;D
i am thinking of doing multiple dry hop additions  on different days in one of my next IPA's.
keep us posted on what you do and the finished beer

Thank you combat32 for your always quick answers.

So 7 days it is.

If I want more hops after that I think will try the "hopbag with dental floss" method in the keg.

Is there a rule for how long the hopbag should be in the keg?

I haven't added hops to a keg yet,
The longer the hops are in contact with your beer I think you could get some of the grassyness or vegetal flavor.
Again just my thoughts, I know guys do it.
So maybe another 7 to 10 days then pull it out would be my suggestion

Thank you combat32.

Do you know if the grassy notes occure with every hop strain?

i think it would apply to all. the more you add the less time they need.the less the longer.
