sounds interesting, especially for red beers.

Vienna Malt works very nice with maris otter as a base malt.

1 oz willaimette at the boil(60 min) , 1 oz East Kent Golding later  maybe at whirlpool ( <160F) or dry hop

since we had 17 voters i am hoping to have at least 17 picks  8)
so I need everyone to pick one or two of these base malts, then we can move on to specialty then hops. trying to do it in stages so we dont lose anyones ideas :)

My votes for base malts go to Maris Otter and then some two row.
Primary:  Blueberry Mead
Secondary: 
Carbonating:
Drinkin' : Chinook IPA, Mango Mead

In terms of Base malt i'd say:

1) Any British style Pale malt (Maris Otter will do)
2) Munich

Red X is very interesting and certainly gives the beer a red colour, although I don't have enough experience using it/tasting it to really fight for it's use.
