I vote Red X, but only because I've never brewed with it and good enough excuse :)

Votes

6        Maris Otter
4        Red X
3        2 Row
3        Vienna
2        Munich
1        Pilsner

just so there's no confusion the grains listed above are base grains.
after everyone puts in there suggestions then the one with the most votes will win.
we could use two base malts also but we can decide that later.
we will take suggestions on specialty malts next, then Hops then yeast then brew :D

Keg 1- HB Blonde ale v2
Keg 2- Simcoe/Amarillo Pale ale
Keg 3-
Keg 4- NB Fresh Squished IPA
Keg 5- NB Deadringer IPA

looks like we have reached the number of participants willing to partake.
so for Base Malt looks like the winner is Maris Otter.
now do we want to do two base malts or stick with one?
by the vote i would say Red X malt wins as the second malt.
again let me know if we want to use a second base malt.

I for one vote for also using Red X to provide more depth and complexity, and also to the colour.
Quote of BB:    I think I've passed that point where I'm no longer under the influence of alcohol. The alcohol is actually under my influence..

FV 1: USB Porter OG: 1.090
FV 2: Network Porter OG: 1.040

Tap 1: Solid IPA 7% ABV
Tap 2: BB's Ginger Brew 6,5
Keg 3 & 4: Clean Slate Saison 17

I think 2 malts is a good idea. It will make the brew more interesting for sure.

I don't know. I picked M,O cos I figured that's what an Irishman would use. From what i have read, REDX can be difficult to mash properly without a step mash though I have no experience with it. something to consider though. If the beer we make is half as good as the Murphy's Red i had in an Irish pub once, I'll be over the moon. 17.
