Excellent video Doc.

I did follow your advice about the Spring pruning, but I wasn't going to comment because I'm embarrassed to say that the labels fell off the poles from the rhizomes that Combat32 gave me last year.

They were a mix of Cascade and Centennial that I received and planted shortly after my Mom had passed away.

I'm hoping that they produce hops this year, and there is a way to distinguish them.

once mine get full grown i will take a pic and send you the Centennial leaf. it is different then the Cascade leaf.  it is hard to tell when they are starting to grow, but once the hop cones start it is easier to tell them apart. dont get me wrong, i dont think you can tell what type of hop it is by leafs or the cones for that matter. but since its only two varities and i know which is which, you should be able to tell them apart.  if that makes any sense  :o

Hop so lol
Here are the pics first is cascade second is centennial. Notice the centennial is darker green and the leaf is narrow compared to the cascade lighter green and fatter leafs.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the pics Combat32 !

I'm pretty sure I have the varieties narrowed down now for the rhizomes that you sent me even though the stickers fell off due to the weather.

Isn't it odd how some of the vines have leaves that contain 5 leaves and also ones that contain 3 leaves on the same vine?

I wish it were as simple as counting the number of leaves, but thx to your pics I think I have narrowed down the variety between Centennial and Cascade.
